The Bachelor of Engineering (diplomingeniøruddannelsen) takes 3 ½ years to complete and includes a mandatory internship. The education is somewhat practical oriented and after 3 ½ years, you are ready to enter the job market. With a bachelor of engineering, it is also possible to go on to the master and become a civil engineer.

The Master of Engineering (civilingeniør-uddannelsen) consists of a 3-year bachelor and a 2-year master. Internhsip is not a mandatory part of the degree, and it is necessary to complete all 5 years.
